Anne & Amy’s trip to Romania, September 2009
Despite a number of obstacles that had to be overcome, we arrived at Cluj-Napoca International Airport full of anticipation of what the Conference in Arad would hold. Some of the obstacles we faced included a very upset tummy, our driver being out of action and unable to meet us at the airport, Marina Samoil being unable to get leave from her work in Moldova, and Amy, who had previously never driven in Europe, boldly drove us in the Aglow family’s vehicle for three and a half hours in order to get to the conference venue! God is good and He covered us every step of the way.
There were 19 overnight delegates and around a dozen day delegates on both days. The programme, which we had prepared beforehand, got a major shift overnight between the start of the conference and the end. God took the whole thing up to another level and the “team” were stretched beyond previous experiences as the Holy Spirit took control and vision was imparted, ladies caught, responded to the call, and committed to serve His purposes through this ministry in their villages, towns and cities.
It was our delight to affiliate the group at Spinus where Ester outreaches one day every week into her local community, inviting the elderly to come for a hot dinner, which Ester cooks and serves them with. She then showers them, grooms the ladies, shaves the men, clips their nails and then brings a word from the Bible and shares about Jesus.
This was a short trip with the purpose of the conference building on what was established and imparted during our earlier trip in April. It was in God’s perfect timing. We saw growth in leaders and new potential leaders. It was a fruitful and encouraging trip.
