What exciting times we are living in!  As we enter further into the end times and see world events unfolding, we can be assured that it is most certainly time for the body of Christ to stand in a way that we have never needed to stand before!

The Lord has impressed upon me the call of Revelation 22:17... “And the Spirit and the bride say Come, and let him who hears come.”  This is a very interesting scripture, as it is a twofold call.  The Spirit without the bride does not issue the invitation, and the bride without the Spirit cannot.  This is a season when there is a call going out - to him who hears, “come”; let him who thirsts “come” and whosoever desires let him take of the waters of life freely.  There is an end time evangelistic call being put on the body of Christ at this time, as fathers and sons, mothers and daughters run together; this principle is highlighted in the book of Kings.  The prophet Elijah had gone through the tremendous victory of Mount Carmel.  Then in 1 Kings 18 we see the God who was the true God, answering Elijah by fire.  But following this Elijah goes through a period of hiding and maybe feels that his time has passed.  BUT GOD came and passed by (chapter 19:11) He was not in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire, but the Lord was in the still small voice. 

Although Elijah prayed he might die, this was simply the beginning of a new call on his life.  An angel touched him and said “Arise and eat for the journey is too great for you.”  Elijah journeyed for 40 days and 40 nights to Mount Sinai.  God commissioned Elijah in a cave.  The Lord told Elijah to go and anoint two kings and to call forth a young man Elisha to be a prophet in his place.  As we go forward in these days we must see the journeying together of the older and the younger.  Scholars tell us that Elijah and Elisha journeyed together for 7 years with Elijah training Elisha in the school of the Prophets.  The cost was great for Elisha; he left everything that he had including his family and the security, comfort and wealth that came with that.  He followed the prophet.   We too must be the men and women of God who are in total commitment and intimacy with God that we’ll flow together in this way. 

I believe in this season, just as it was said to Elisha... If you see me when I go then you will have what you’re asking for; a double portion.   There are mantles that need to be picked up.  Are we ready in this season to tear off the old mantle that has been upon us?  To tear off the familiar garments that we feel so comfortable in, and are we ready to fall to the ground in an act of total surrender to God, and pick up the mantle of the double portion?  Strike the water and cross your Jordans!
