Aglow Britain – A House of Prayer
Jesus said “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations...” (Mark 11:17)
God is in the process of healing our land, and I believe that what happens in the natural is a reflection of what has already been established in the spiritual realm. It was God’s original purpose and design for us to reign on this earth (Genesis 1) and His intention for us has never changed. It stirs a passion and an excitement in me when I think of what can be accomplished through the prayers of the saints, and I long to see more and more people responding to and answering that awesome call to pray. It is in prayer, in proclamation and decrees, and in worship that we will see the purposes of God established in our land!
We have recently launched 2 prayer initiatives:
PRAYER WITHOUT WALLS – Taking prayer OUTSIDE into our communities! What is the crime rate in your town or city? Where are the drug hot spots? Where are your local schools and universities? In Jeremiah 6:19 Jeremiah makes a decree: “Hear, O earth!” There is such power in our words and in our declarations over our land! We are created in the image of God, and in Genesis God spoke and it was created! We are in His image! When we speak, He creates!
CAPITAL CITY PRAYER – In 2010 a global strategy of prayer focused on CAPITAL CITIES was launched. The aim is to encourage already existing Aglow groups to establish a group of intercessors who have the heart and the call to pray for the capital cities of their nations. The primary focus is that these intercessors will have regular prayer meetings to pray for the leaders and the governmental authorities in the nation. The Apostle Paul proclaimed that, “…supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made… for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1, 2).
Two other prayer initiatives have been ongoing for a number of years:
Operation SPEC – Strategic Prayer for the European Continent. Will you join with is in this operation? Europe has been divided into seven regions and each region given a specific day of the week to pray for the whole continent of Europe. Britain’s day to pray is Tuesday. There is a great surge of prayer across the continent as Aglow in Europe is responding in prayer to the urgency of the hour for Europe.
Finally, Aglow’s PRAYER FOCUS highlights the ongoing and regular prayer points, so that you can partner with us as we seek to further establish the Kingdom of heaven on the earth.
1. Aglow 24 Hour Prayer Network.
2. Aglow Prayer Groups in the Nation – feature Area, Local, Young Women’s Prayer groups.
3. Aglow National Day of Prayer and Fasting– held every year in February.
4. Aglow Leaders – please pray for the leaders of Aglow in Britain.
5. Your Government needs you – Prayer for Parliament – Westminster – Scottish Parliament – Welsh Assembly. When Parliament is in session intercessors meet to pray monthly in the palace of Westminster.
