My thoughts have been in 2 Kings ch.4 v 8, with the Shunammite women. She was an fluent, married lady, with a good lifestyle, fully contented with her own people, but one who made a decision to Open up HER Door to the Prophet Elisha. Elisha would go and eat with them when he passed by, but the Shunammite had a hunger behind her DOOR, she wanted to extend an invitation of hospitality to Elisha to stay with them, in his own room. She was willing to remodel her home to have the prophet stay with them.

Are we happy with visitation? Do we enjoy a good meeting? Do we love receiving a word from the Lord? “The fellowship we have is wonderful”, “I wouldn’t want it to change”, “oh I just love it this way”, if so, then we are visitation people. People who will continue in the status quo with times of blessing and refreshing as the Lord will come and bless us in the midst of our praises. Yet there is no growth, no change or sense of purpose or destiny to move on in the things of God. We just simply “stay” holding onto “our words”.

When the Shunammite moved from visitation to habitation she moved into a different sphere. Firstly there was a cost of changing from the status quo. Some remodelling had to take place in her very comfortable “home”. The builders had to come in to make a room for the prophet. There was a different routine. There was a clearing out, before there was a building up. She was so hungry for the presence of the prophet. In fact I would say she was so desperate to have the presence of the prophet in her home, it only made her hungry for more.

A shift took place. Out went the old way for the response had also come from the prophet that he would come and spend time in the room prepared for him.

When we hunger and thirst after the things of the Spirit, we move with an ardent desire and passion to remodel and extend our lives, to clear out the old, move from “I” and “self”, to “it’s all about Him” to be wholly set apart to Jesus.

We will begin to see so much clearer, hear sharper, speak and move in the prophetic dimension. We have to begin to arise, push our boundaries out further, moving from the prophecy SPOKEN to the prophecy being REVEALED.

For when the chamber had been built, it was time to put the furnishings in place.

A BED so the prophet could STRETCH OUT, meditate and rest.

A CHAIR “ SIT in his rightful place

A TABLE “ MEDITATE and EAT what was brought before him.

LAMPSTAND “ For ILLUMINATION and REVELATION.

Jesus said he had to leave so that the Comforter could come. We have received the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth and Revelation that reveals to us the secret things that cause us to

Be STRETCHED

SIT in Heavenly places

SEE and EAT the fresh Revelation from the Lord,

As He ILLUMINATES and REVEALS His Word, His Way and His Truth before us,

This will cause us not to remain in the past, just content to hold onto a word, but move forward, taking the Word and by faith declaring it, to see the fulfilment of it before our eyes. Our lives will manifest the presence of the Lord.

THE WORD OF THE PROPHET BROKE THE BARRENNESS OF THE HOUSEHOLD.

A son was born; the Shunammite woman didn’t ask for anything, she was content dwelling among her own people; the prophet released the word of the lord.

As we embrace the prophetic, the barrenness of our situations will move to declaring and proclaiming the word of the Lord. Just as the Shunammite knew the voice of the prophet, as we allow the Holy Spirit to restore us, not put a patch in the old wine skin, but bring forth the new, to contain the word of life. We have this treasure in our earthen vessels…..it must flow forth into the nation…… the prophetic word will break and destroy the barrenness of negativity and apostasy as we speak the language of the next dimension...

Even if our promise looks dead, go back to the word spoken…”you shall have a son…..” She went to the source, laid the son on the prophet’s bed and went for the man of God. She was determined. She knew this prophet, he lived in her home, and he broke the barrenness with the word of the Lord. He was the one to align with. When the word and faith align, the Holy Spirit comes with all the backing of heaven. She didn’t want to be satisfied with Elisha’s servant coming back, she wanted Elisha. She had opened her DOOR to him and she received the promise from him. He spent time in her home, she knew this man…..whatever we see feel or experience, if it doesn’t align with the word, we have to start to speak LIFE over those circumstances……. Moving in FAITH and PERSISTENCE

The Prophet brought DIRECTION, REVELATION, PROVISION AND TIMING.

He instructed this woman to leave her land, 2 Kings Ch. 8 as a famine was coming on the land for seven years. She got up and did according to the word Elisha spoke.

At the end of her seven years moving into the eight year (which means new beginnings), the Shunammite woman retuned to her country and went before the King to have her home and land restored to her. The timing was right. Gehazi, the servant of Elisha was in the presence of the king giving testimony of the miraculous exploits of Elisha, concerning the Shunammite’s son when the Shunammite woman and her son walked in. Timing and Destiny met, all was restored to the Shunammite who was now widowed, but because of the remodelling of her house, the receiving of the prophet and walking fully in the word, she did not pray or request as a WIDOW BUT AS A BRIDE…..

May we swing wide the DOOR of our HOUSE to receive all of the Lords presence and miracle working power, which in turn will destroy the BARRENNESS in our life and the lives we touch, WITH THE MANIFEST PRESENCE OF THE LORD... With SIGNS AND WONDERS FOLLOWING.

Remember the Holy Spirit will always reside where there is hunger behind the door...

Stop praying like a WIDOW and start praying like a BRIDE…

For the BRIDEGROOM IS COMING BACK FOR HIS BRIDE………………
