A Voice for The Times was the theme for our recent Leaders & Members Conference held at the Southport Theatre & Convention Centre, Southport.

What an wonderful time right from the beginning – Friday evening started with a prayer concert when gold ribbon was used to symbolise a net across the auditorium, all delegates held on to the ribbons signifying the oneness in Christ brought about through the cross. We prayed as a corporate body, one voice in agreement as we made declarations over the nation.

The worship led by Julie Meyer www.juliemeyer.com  lifted us up into the heavenly places - times of great joy and exuberance and times of intense worship focusing on the Lord alone. One song resonated through the meetings was Julie Meyers' 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness’ These words that spoke firstly of John the Baptist preparing the way for the coming of Jesus, speak very much to us also as believers in these last days.  We are challenged to be a voice preparing the way for Christ's second coming and to speak as people who live 'heaven to earth' rather than 'earth to heaven.'  This means we will have a heavenly mindset - rather than tell God how big the mountains are in our lives, we tell the mountains what a big God we have!  God is raising us up to untie the knots of confusion in our world, to speak into situations in our families and communities and work places.  We are the salt of the earth and must be people who have a revelation of the times we live in and are ready to stand in the covering of Christ and be a voice and a light in this dark world.

Nancy McDaniel – Prayer Director for Aglow International spoke to us from Ephesians. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places our address is heaven, our occupation is on earth, and heaven is where we find our rest.  We are seated in a place of victory and triumph. We are the bride of Christ, beloved, blessed with every spiritual blessing, we don't have to beg for these things, they are ours by right as our address is heaven and God is our Father.  Every time our occupation demonstrates something different, we take it back to the Father go into the secret place and find the valuable things of God, His presence, His character, His word, then we will hear what God is decreeing to us and this world.

Celia Apeagyei-Collins – Chief Executive of the Rehoboth Foundation www.rehobothfoundation.com led us to seek an encounter with God in order to make a mark in this world. She spoke from Isaiah 54  “Sing O barren women”  Welcome and proclaim what is to come, enlarge the place of your tent, your belief systems, your values and allow God space to let Him grow in you, get rid of what is in the way. 

Nonnie McVeigh – National President Aglow International (Britain) brought the conference to a close with a real challenge fo rus to be people who operate by faith and live in the power of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is within us, we are not waiting for Him and all we have to do is to 'flick the switch'.  We are people who live in the light of God's presence, don't lose in the dark what God has given in the light. Seek after God with all your heart as Jacob did. Do not let go until God has blessed you. Allow Him to break you and keep you in a place of repentance. We have been given new garments as Joseph was; it was his birthright just as the garments of righteousness are ours as Christians.  Joseph had a dream that held him even when his nearest and dearest put him in the pit the dream kept him and sustained him even when he was wrongly accused and put in prison.  We are anointed by God and are robed in Christ, He has called us to go out, stand firm in Him and be a voice. He will go before us, and give us the treasures of darkness. HE HAS CALLED US BY NAME.
